What is OLI?

The Oregon Leadership Institute (OLI) is a program developed by the Oregon Council for Hispanic Advancement (OCHA) for Latino high school students. OLI meets one Saturday a month for eight months and discusses topics such as leadership, culture and heritage, a college and career fair, personal responsibility and attitude and future. Students are led by mentors who are currently college students. They explore their future, their culture and each other. At the end of the year students participate in an overnight camping trip and ropes course. When they have completed the program they have a graduation ceremony and receive a certificate of completion.

¿Qué es OLI?

OLI es un programa desarrollado por el Oregon Council for Hispanic Advancement (OCHA) para los estudiantes Latinos de la escuela secundaria. OLI reúne un Sábado por mes por ocho meses y discuten temas como el liderazgo, la cultura y herencia, una exposición de colegios y carreras, la responsabilidad personal y actitud y futuro. Los estudiantes son guiados por mentores cuales son estudiantes del colegio. Los que participan en el programa exploran su futuro, su cultura y explorarse entre ellos. Al fin del ano los estudiantes participan en un viaje acampar por una noche y un curso de ropas. Cuando han completado el programa tienen una ceremonia de graduación donde reciben su certificado por haber completado el programa.
